For Seniors: Get Help Managing Your Money and Controlling Debt
Rising costs for prescription drugs, healthcare, and basic living expenses make it difficult for many seniors to live within a budget and control their finances.
As a result, some seniors are forced to use credit cards to pay for healthcare and living expenses, making unmanageable debt a growing problem among retired Americans.
But help is available for low-income seniors from the AARP Foundation’s Money Management Program. This community service program can help you or someone you know regain control over finances and remain independent.
Seniors Matched with Caring Volunteers
Participants in our Money Management program are matched with trained volunteers who help them with:
In addition, our Money Management Plus program assists people who are facing an immediate or unusual financial crisis. This program, provided in conjunction with the nonprofit Endowment for Financial Education, connects those who need help with financial planners on a pro bono basis.
